House
of dignitaries (picture taken in the middle of the
19th century) from which was built the existing chateau. This
building from the 17th century was partly joined to the old
Notre-Dame de Frénaud church, also called church of
the Fountain (14th century to 1851). The house could be the
oldest of the lower town. Before 1838, it belonged to the
Veyrenc-Beaufort families, linked to the Teyssiers and the
Borel-Delors. After that, the Montluisant family developed
it further.

On
the main façade there is a small romanesque window,
the only remaining feature of the Notre-Dame church.

On the
left, in rue du Compte de Poitiers, several old openings carved
in stone and windows with wrought iron bars can be seen on
the side of the chateau.
